First Challenge of 2014!

Raw Vegan Pad Thai with Kelp Noodles, Lemongrass & Sprouts

This is not just a random food-porn post. Not only do these pictures portray the blast we’ve had at the amazing “Astuni Raw Vegan Cafe” in Rawai, Phuket (which has been so far the BEST vegan & raw food restaurant we’ve ever eaten at)… they also describe our first challenge of 2014: a 4 Day Cleanse (no food; just juice) that starts tomorrow!

We took advantage of eating raw (featured below… can you believe everything is RAW and VEGAN???) as part of our pre-cleanse requirement. Not only is this style of food incredibly diverse and creative, but you always feel light, even after a massive feast which is healthy and delicious at the same time.

Fasting, on the other hand, allows the body to remove deep toxic residue from the liver, blood, joints, lymph fluid, bowels and muscles. It also increases energy, clears up skin, promotes weight loss, and aids in disease prevention.

Our organic juices have been delivered a couple of hours ago by the guys at Pura Organics. Our supplements & fibers (Bowel Cleansing Supplements, Fiber Cleansing Shakes, Nutritional Herbs, Detox Clay, Chlorophyll, Detox Shaker, Pea Protein, Spirulina, Probiotics, Organic Enema Coffee) are neatly wrapped in individual bags, prepared for us by Jen from Amity Wellness. Our 5 liters of mineral water wait on the table…. and we are ready to go!

Have you ever done a cleanse before? How was it? Any tips or advice? Share your experience in a comment!

nice… but its hard to find that kind of Raw Vegan Restaurant food in all the cities around the world. More people will eat clean and healthy food if they have some knowledge about it and know that they can eat healthy and good looking food instead of fast-foods or some other junk food.

I completely agree. It's so sad that healthy food is the exception and not the rule. That being said, you can utilize services such as http://www.happycow.com to find a healthy alternative near you. I've had success in nearly every city I traveled to (although sometimes it requires planning like bringing my own bars, proteins, etc). Also, we prefer to stay in apartments instead of hotels – not only is it less expensive and more livable, but you can cook your own food! And it doesn't hurt that my wife is a fantastic chef 🙂
